Understanding Depression and how to cope with this mental illness is fast becoming one of the biggest disorders affecting both adults and children.
What depression constitutes is when a person no longer has the motivation to be part of life.
People are uncertain about the future and are often left feeling hopeless and helpless, and this can lead to low self esteem, and feelings of failure.
Modern medicine states that the cause of depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain and this can be caused by genetics or environmental, and over the years there has been ample amount of research that has been done to back up this information. The Australian Depression Institute has spent several years case studying a few thousand people that have been diagnosed with depression, in order to understand the person’s life before the change occurred and depression began.
What I have discovered and fully agree with, is the ADAA (Australian Depression, Anxiety Association) and “The Method”; is that the root cause must be identified before permanent change can be obtained. I’s also my experience that leads me to the conclusion this is so true!
Most people, when understanding health conditions, whether this is mental health issues; will place their attention solely upon influencing the body back to a normal state of health, and will fall well short of considering that there are definite beliefs attached to a state of mental health.
Naturopathic Psychotherapy provides an education in the realities of life and how to heal psychological stress that is a big factor attached to depression, anxiety and psychological issues which more often than not leads to disease. There is now a method that has delivered outstanding results when applying these unique principles.
The reality is, you can realise a permanent cure of depression without the use of medication. Although it is important to understand that in some cases medication can be required and it is a necessary temporary solution for some until people learn to educate themselves in the method. Psychological stress is the conflict our psyche is experiencing due to the contradictions it believes to be occurring between its current belief on what is physically happening, and its current beliefs on what needs to be taking place in life. You’ll not be able to make these changes if you are constantly trying to control life which is unfortunately what many practitioners are using today to help others with Depression. This is the ultimate mistake we now realise, it is what I call a “contradiction of the truth”.
Psychological stress is one of the key factors which brings on the onset of depression. It’s not until a depression suffer understands the reasons why they cannot change or feel the way that they do, that significant changes can be made. Depression is seen as a deep dark cloud that envelope’s an individual, and the cause of such depression is stated to be a chemical imbalance within the brain. However let’s also learn to understand why such chemical dysfunction has eventuated.
With physical ailments, the dysfunctional cells in the brain have been influenced by our psychological concerns. There is what is termed a specific type of thinking (psychological concern) that decreases the ability of the cells in the brain to create the correct balance of neurotransmitters. So once again we will find the answer to a person’s depression, through helping them learn specific lessons and educating them in what I call “wisdom”.
Thorough investigation has revealed a common thread or line of thought with many depressions suffers. You will find they reach a point of believing that “they no longer have any goals”. I’m not talking about the sort of goals that you write down to obtain your desires. I am talking about goals that you attach to your Self Worth, and upon growing up you would have had many of these goals in your mind. When these goals start to fail in life, or appear to, it starts a cycle of “why bother anymore”, or “what’s the point”.
Due to life not conforming to your wishes and desires, you may have reached a point of giving up on believing that life is able to provide you with the necessities needed to reach your goals. In most cases it evolved from you experiencing a series of disappointments, obstacles and things not going as planned. This results in being unable to achieve your major “self worth” attached to your mind goals.
Which means you have reached the point of believing you will never be able to create the type of existence that proves the value of your life.
This devastation will leave you convinced that not only should you not even bother trying to have new goals when life appears to be going so much against you. For some people, you may not have experienced many series of setbacks and it might have only been one trauma in your life that has contributed to you experiencing depression. With this in mind, it has left you with believing your “self worth proving goal” was no longer achievable.
It is only through understanding the “Personal Development” and how this model works will you learn a new level of wisdom. Understanding this wisdom is only obtained because you are subjected to real life situations that you needed to experience. It is this learning that will help you get the knowledge to help you in your everyday life and move you forward with the eventual outcome of finding the happiness you truly deserve.
